Look up a food hygiene rating.

Search the FSA's public ratings. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland you'll see the 0 to 5 rating and the three scores behind it; Scottish businesses show their Food Hygiene Information Scheme result (Pass or Improvement Required), which has no scores.

Most points are lost on things you can fix. Confidence in management looks at your track record, your knowledge and whether your food safety system is followed every day, and good records are how you show it. Read the guide.

Data from the FSA's food hygiene rating data (open-data API), updated by local authorities. Ratings reflect the standards found on the date of inspection; the FSA's site at ratings.food.gov.uk is the official record. Scotland uses Food Standards Scotland's Food Hygiene Information Scheme (Pass or Improvement Required, no scores). Five Star Diary isn't affiliated with the FSA or FSS.
